10 Sept 1924 - 29 July 2010Our father died Thursday night, July 29th, 2010. He was active and independent to the end. In the last few weeks, he suffered from some health problems, but ultimately he died of heart failure, suddenly and without pain.
We are saddened by his loss, but grateful that he went quickly, holding his daughter's hand. Our father treasured his independence and cherished his life at Weir Meadow. He was firmly resolved to live out his days at the home he built and shared with his wife for fifty years. Perhaps it is proof of his determination that he went within hours of entering the hospital; as he always intended, his last night was spent at home.
